Sleepy owls says, "Rest your head".
New nursery collection for those sweet little ones.  Introducing "HOOT".  I have designed 3 coordinating colorways and illustrated mock-ups of each.  Which one is your favorite?  I just can't make up my mind. :)  xx

POPPIN' POPPIES

LOVE LOVE LOVE POPPIES!!!  I think poppies are so BEAUTIFUL!  Their color is bold and striking, yet their ruffled shape looks so delicate.  I am currently working on a poppy collection, but I am having trouble deciding which color palette to explore.  I think I prefer the green background and the pink background...although I am drawn into the black background.  It is all about bold color for me.  I would love to hear your preferences!  Please leave me a comment with your favorite!  Thanks so much! xx

Mid Mod Mash Up

Today I played with some more sketches that I created last fall.  This latest collection of patterns is sort of a MidMod Mashup.  I combined several different retro illustration using the same color palette.  The result is fresh, funky and so fun!  I can easily see these patterns on beautiful flowing maxi dresses, as well as stylish outdoor patio cushions and pillows. I just need a name for this collection.  Any thoughts???  Please leave me a comment with any suggestions.  Thank you!  xx

A little bit of MidMod play today

My poor computer has been out of commission for almost a week.  I finally got it back up and running today and decided to just play with some MidMod designs that I sketched last fall.  I love these simple wonky shapes and adore this fresh and modern color palette.  Sometimes I just like to play with colors to see how they look in a pattern.  I didn't really have a plan for this pattern, but knew I wanted the colors to be bold.  I really love how it turned out!  I would love to see this on some curtains in my living room!!  What would you use it on?

A Very Kitschy Christmas!

Today, I finished my Kitschy Christmas Collection.  I really love how the additional patterns have rounded out and completed the collection. This palette is definitely modern and bold, yet still incorporates the traditional Christmas color palette of green and red. I think this is a fresh take on Christmas and would LOVE to see this collection licensed for some fun Christmas decor items! xx

New Collection with a Vintage Flare....Introducing Harlow

My new collection Harlow is full of color, yet has a softer palette that pairs well with the delicate floral motifs.  I designed the flowers and abstract texture to have a vintage flare.  I think these patterns would add a lovely feminine touch to the dinner table.  They also look beautiful printed up as fabric and made into an adorable little sundress.  And...how cute is that little boy's onsie?!  Hope you enjoy Harlow! xx

Recharged & Inspired

This summer I took a bit of a break from my design work.  I continued to sketch during the summer, but focused most of my attention on rest, relaxation, and family fun.  We all needed a recharge and this summer did not disappoint.  It was amazing to just let my creativity wander without expectations.  This new collection came from one of my summer sketchbook pages.  It feels so good to get back in the game with a clear vision and a sketchbook filled to the brim with inspiration.

The color palette for this collection was influenced by my vision of summer transitioning to fall. And, since the style of this collection has a bit of a Mid-Century Scandinavian feel to it, I decided on the name Freya.
I am really thrilled with this collection and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Lounge Lizard on Lampshades = LOVE

Having some fun tonight mocking up these FAB retro lampshades.  I just adore vintage lampshades, so just had to see what my Lounge Lizard collection would look like mocked up.  I LOVE THEM!!!  I would LOVE any one of these...or all...in my home!!  How about you?  Do you have a favorite?  It would really be difficult for me to choose just one.  :)

Geek Chic Sneak Peek

A couple of weeks ago Spoonflower held a competition with the theme of 'Geek Chic'.  I loved the idea, but unfortunately did not get my submission completed to enter.  Today I finally finished my design, so I thought I would share it anyway.  My design depicts what GEEK DNA probably looks like...at least I am pretty sure that this is what my DNA looks like.  Plus I love vintage glasses!!   :)  Enjoy!
