Pantone color of the year 2018

Pantone just introduced their color of the year for 2018.  It is Ultra Violet 18-3838.  I decided to do a quick mini collection using this color.  This was a bit challenging for me, because I rarely use purple in my work.  It has never been a favorite color of mine, but I must say that this color combination is gorgeous.  I believe I am developing a fondness for Ultra Violet. :)  So, what are your thoughts?  Do you like Ultra Violet?  I would love to know.

Positively Poppies

Ruby red is my absolute favorite color!!!  Plus, I really adore poppies!!!  Here is another older sketch that I put into repeat and created a pattern.  I tried to show some depth with this pattern using the watercolor brushes.  The brushes are really forgiving and pretty cool to use for highlights.  I am loving these poppies!!!  Happy Good Friday!! xo

"Dance of the Butterflies" Collection

The snow has melted and the "Cheeseburger" birds are singing!  With temps in the high 50's I am thinking and drawing BUTTERFLIES!!  I chose a very fresh and happy palette to give this collection life.  It just makes me smile when a new collection comes together. I can't help but "THINK SPRING"!  Have a GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Dance of the Butterflies

Doesn't this pattern just say "HAPPINESS"?!  The temps are getting warmer and the days are getting longer!  YAY!!!  So excited for Spring to get here!!  Hope you enjoy this little bit a "HAPPY" to start your weekend! XO

Because it is -25 degrees outside...

 with a windchill of -50, and my car won't start, and I don't want to freeze my face off, and I am still in my PJ's, and I LOVE to design pretty patterns.  

I have been in full on Christmas mode lately and have had no time to draw or design.  So, I decided to take some time today...after making gingerbread houses with the kids...to sit down and get my design mojo on. My son Gabe even named this collection for me.  I think he picked the perfect name!  Hope this collection brings you a bit of warmth on this wintry day.  

I would also like to thank all of my wonderful followers for their support this year!  It is truly my passion to design beautiful patterns that will bring a smile to people everywhere!  May the joy and peace of Christmas surround you and your family!

In a Daze these Days....

I am having a difficult time leaving summer behind. My daisies have all withered and I am longing for warm summer days again.  Even though I do love mums in the fall...I am in a Daisy Daze.  At least that inspired my newest collection!  Hope you enjoy this last bit of summer love!

Just in time for fall...Introducing "Dorset"

 Elegant and sophisticated with a palette of fall colors.  This collection evolved from a single flower.  The big bloom top and center came from a sketch I did in an old book and from there "Dorset" emerged. Below are the sketches that inspired this collection.
