Doesn't this collection just scream SPRING?! This is probably my favorite color combination! I love this clean, fresh color palette. It really makes me LONG for SPRING!!! I chose the name "Lowenna" because it means JOY and BLISS. It also has such a fresh and youthful ring to it...just like spring. I put together a few mock-ups to showcase this joyful collection. Hope you enjoy it!

Introducing Estrella...featuring Pantone color of 2018 Ultra Violet
Pantone Color of 2018 Ultra Violet |
With a few additional patterns my "mini" collection is now complete. I picked the name "Estrella" which means "star". Before starting this collection I was not a huge fan of purple colors. This collection forced me to research various color palettes that included the color ultra violet. I really LOVE how this collection turned out and I am truly loving this color palette and the way the ultra violet draws me in. I also decided to play with some mock-ups to see what the collection could look like in real life. I would totally buy these items!! I believe I am an ultra violet convert. Who would have guessed?! LOL! Here's to many more surprises in 2018!!
These would be the sweetest summer dresses!! |

Pantone color of the year 2018
Pantone just introduced their color of the year for 2018. It is Ultra Violet 18-3838. I decided to do a quick mini collection using this color. This was a bit challenging for me, because I rarely use purple in my work. It has never been a favorite color of mine, but I must say that this color combination is gorgeous. I believe I am developing a fondness for Ultra Violet. :) So, what are your thoughts? Do you like Ultra Violet? I would love to know.

Another play on Solveig
This was fun! I used the blooms from my Solveig collection to create vintage inspired potted plants. I remember right after I sketched the flowers I thought, "Hmmm...those look like pots on stems." And so that sketch did double duty creating lovely flowers and playful pots. WIN WIN!
Scandinavian Play...Introducing Solveig
There are many nationalities in my family, however the majority is Scandinavian. I adore Scandinavian style, prints, and color. Plus, being a Minnesota girl, there is no end to the multitudes of inspiration around me. Scandinavian prints and textiles have a real vibrancy and playfulness to their design. I thought it would be fun to play a bit with Scandinavian inspired elements and see what might develop. I must say I am quite pleased with the way this collection came together. And how fitting is the name Solveig? I just LOVE it! I also played a bit with some mockups to see how the patterns would look on pillows, cushions and lampshades. I feel that Solveig would be absolutely wonderful on home decor items and would love to see that become a reality. I hope you enjoy Solveig as much as I do!

What could be better than fresh picked daisies and a bowl full of fresh blueberries?
With Christmas behind us and temps in the negative digits, I have decided to set my sights on summer inspired prints and illustrations. I am feeling the warmth already! Two of my all time favorite things that remind me of summer are daisies and blueberries...and oh how pretty they are together! Wouldn't these patterns look lovely on tea towels and sun dresses?! And, who doesn't need a summer backpack to take on a hike or to the beach? I would love this backpack! Bring on the warm weather....PLEASE!!

O Little Town
I haven't had much time lately for drawing or designing, but I was able to put this little collection together just in time for Christmas. Here are some fun mock-ups I made using the patterns from the collection. The wintry palette and snowflakes make me want to hunker down with a cup of hot cocoa and a cozy blanket, put the Netflix yule log on, and get in lots of snuggle time. :) Wishing all of my friends and family near and far a very Merry Christmas...and a HUGE THANK YOU for all of your encouragement and support! xoxo
