A Very Kitschy Christmas!

Today, I finished my Kitschy Christmas Collection.  I really love how the additional patterns have rounded out and completed the collection. This palette is definitely modern and bold, yet still incorporates the traditional Christmas color palette of green and red. I think this is a fresh take on Christmas and would LOVE to see this collection licensed for some fun Christmas decor items! xx

Kitschy Christmas...Did someone say POPCORN?!

These two patterns are so FUN and retro!  They take me back to my childhood when I would string popcorn with my sister and wrap it around our Christmas tree. Of course there was always a little snacking and Christmas music too.  I think we would string two pieces and then eat one.  LOL!  I remember it took a very long time!  This mini collection really warms my heart!  Hope it helps to get you in the holiday spirit. :)

fresh fieldbloom in the fall

Finally finished fieldbloom!  Such a fresh colorway to make this collection POP!  :)   I know I should be focused on fall and Christmas patterns, but this collection was just calling to be completed! OK...now I need to focus on FALL and Christmas!  Still LOVE this "fieldbloom" collection!! xx

Miss Ruby's Daisy Blue

My sweet Miss Ruby got the creative bug this evening and whipped up this precious little floral pattern. She brought me her sketchbook and said she wanted to make a fabric collection.  So far, she has about 6 patterns sketched out.  This is the first pattern in her collection, Daisy Blue.  She is pleased as punch with how it turned out.  It seems I have a budding designer on my hands!  So proud of my sweet girl!!  I love Daisy Blue and I hope you do too!!  xx

New Collection with a Vintage Flare....Introducing Harlow

My new collection Harlow is full of color, yet has a softer palette that pairs well with the delicate floral motifs.  I designed the flowers and abstract texture to have a vintage flare.  I think these patterns would add a lovely feminine touch to the dinner table.  They also look beautiful printed up as fabric and made into an adorable little sundress.  And...how cute is that little boy's onsie?!  Hope you enjoy Harlow! xx

Life on Penny Lane

Avocado green and harvest gold appliances, dark wood cabinets with bright orange counter tops...yes, this was my childhood.  I am a child of the 70s and I lived on Penny Lane.  Naturally, I also grew up singing Penny Lane.  This collection transports me back to a simpler time...a time when kids jumped on their bikes in the morning and came home for dinner only after the street lights came on at night.  Carefree living!  There was really something magical about that time in my life.  I wanted to capture a little bit of that magic for this collection.  And, of course the name had to be Penny Lane.  I bet you are even humming the tune now...I know I am.  Hope this collection transport you back in time too.

Recharged & Inspired

This summer I took a bit of a break from my design work.  I continued to sketch during the summer, but focused most of my attention on rest, relaxation, and family fun.  We all needed a recharge and this summer did not disappoint.  It was amazing to just let my creativity wander without expectations.  This new collection came from one of my summer sketchbook pages.  It feels so good to get back in the game with a clear vision and a sketchbook filled to the brim with inspiration.

The color palette for this collection was influenced by my vision of summer transitioning to fall. And, since the style of this collection has a bit of a Mid-Century Scandinavian feel to it, I decided on the name Freya.
I am really thrilled with this collection and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Minnesota State Bird

The loon's song is one of the most beautiful, enchanting, and sometimes haunting bird's songs. It is a song that takes me back to my childhood.  Growing up on Minnesota lakes, it was a song that we heard daily.  Actually, there are several very distinct calls of the loon.  My favorite call is the wail that most people would recognize. It is the call they use to figure out each other's location.  It is an almost eerie call that will just linger in your ears...but it is so beautiful.  Loons hold a very special place in my heart. This illustration is one that was inspired by so many childhood memories.

Check out this link to hear my favorite loon call.

Lanai Collection

My husband said this collection reminds him of a Hawaiian getaway...and the Beach Boys album
"Endless Summer" (see below).
Hawaii's smallest inhabited island, Lanai is known for it's quiet beauty.  It is a romantic destination of untouched tranquility and said to easily be Hawaii's "Most Enticing Island".  So, what do you think?  I think "Lanai" it very fitting. xx

Hexi Quilt Cards

EEEP!!!  Just ADORE these sweet Hexi Cards!!  I mocked them up with my latest collection...that still needs a name.  I would LOVE to license these and see them printed!  Can you help me think of a name for this vibrant and fun collection?  Thanks so much!!  xx

The name escapes me...

This modern collection was born from several drawings that I pulled together from my sketchbook. I felt like it needed a fun and funky palette to bring it all together.  Vibrant and bold, I am loving how it turned out.  But, I seem to be stumped on a name.  It might be because it is way past my bedtime and my brain has already gone to sleep. Regardless, I need help!  Please feel free to comment with any names that you think might fit this playful group of patterns.  Thanks so much for your help!  Can't wait to hear what you all come up with!

Memories from my childhood

Marigolds and Alyssum are the flowers from my childhood.  The path along the back of our house was always bordered with these lovelies.  Because of their dense clusters, they just happened to be the perfect place for toads and frogs to hideout.  I remember many summer days spent searching with my sister for toads in the Marigolds and Alyssum.  Their scent always transports me back to those summer days of long ago.  Introducing "Miss Mari".

Luna Moths and Bleeding Hearts

Introducing my newest collection, Luna.  I am in awe of the exquisite beauty of the Luna Moth.  Tragically, their life cycle is very short. Their sole purpose is to mate and only live for about a week. Bleeding hearts just seem like the perfect flower to share the spotlight with these beautiful creatures.
